Kaleidoscope

Songs, Activities, and Games with Orff Process Lesson Plans from Master teachers of Orff Schulwerk

Master Orff teachers have collaborated to produce this magical collection of activities, games, and movement on the general theme of rhythm and pulse with Orff process lesson plans. Each piece is self-contained and unique to the Orff canon. Only a few of these lessons have been published elsewhere.

Because this is a potpourri of pieces from many composers and authors, some have bonus supplemental materials to enhance the lessons. There are audio tracks and visuals to go with the appropriate activities as provided by composers.

About Kaleidoscope

The American Orff Schulwerk Association (AOSA) is an organization whose training, conferences, and local chapter workshops have impacted thousands of lives. When first thinking about this book, I had a vision of bringing various authors and teachers together to support AOSA's scholarship fund in order to provide training for others to benefit from this unique approach to music education.

But what to call such a project? Why, Kaleidoscope, of course! I have always loved stained glass and kaleidoscopes made with pieces of colorful glass. I had the pleasure of visiting the "World's largest brick & mortar kaleidoscope store" in Jerome, Arizona, a short drive from Sedona. Nellie Bly Kaleidoscopes offers a plethora of amazing and beautiful kaleidoscopes made by artisans around the world.

This book, with its many authors, is a perfect Kaleidoscope; with each turn of the page a new and beautiful lesson unfolds ready to be enjoyed by teacher and students alike. So, turn the page and see what new design and colors are revealed. Enjoy.

The beautiful backgrounds and kaleidoscopic images on this web page were created by Kerri Lynn Nichols.
